my journey to an unknown end

This series of landscapes premiered at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Art as part of a retrospective of my work in Taiwan. They depict paths winding through fields and mountains which I came to see as a metaphor of our own sinuous journey through life.landscapes.html
portraits

These portraits are of various people I have encountered that inspired me in some way or another. They range from friends to shamans of Taiwan’s aboriginal tribes. portraits.html
artists

This series of artists was realised in France, Taiwan, and the Netherlands. It is more about the artist in the artist than just portraying the artist as a person.artists.html
divas of
the red envelope club

These cabarets, named after the way admirers offer money to the singers - in a red envelope, have been an integral part of Taipei’s nightlife since the 1950’s. The women who sing there sing old Chinese love songs to an audience comprised mostly of men. These women fight for survival and dignity in a traditional, male-dominated culture. These portraits are the stories of their lives.divas.html
